Background of the Study and Statement of the Problem

Background of the Study

Nowadays, people face Mother Nature’s wrath by giving man unexpected turn of event like earthquake, landslide, storms and many more natural calamities. Even just a short heavy rain can cause floods, landslide and etc. For accidents on the road, city and even on the remote areas that are unreachable. The main purpose of the study is to be the eye wherever and whenever it will be needed. It can be deployed in any kind of place. It can go in high grounds or survey buildings and even a block of residence. The proposed study has a surveillance camera for monitoring and focus on the output video. The GPS on this thing have an advantage that one can know the location of it even if it is not within the range of the remote control.

The quad copter fulfills the study requirement for an aerial robot providing the means by which the surveillance camera becomes airborne giving a bird's eye view of the area under surveillance. Also the GPS component is there to track and guide the quad copter. Hence, the system could be also used as a very versatile improvised disaster warning system.

Statement of the Problem

The main problem of the study is to design and develop an aerial reconnaissance robot that hovers 20 to 30 minutes, searches the area and lifts the quad copter.

The study aims to answer the following questions:

1. What are the materials to be used to develop the aerial reconnaissance robot?
2. What are the capabilities of the project?
3. What are the benefits of the study?
